Toby Malone

From all appearances, we waited until Fluxible was sold out to announce our final speaker. And while we certainly didn’t plan it that way, we are in fact making our final announcement after selling out.

Our final addition continues the Fluxible tradition of presenting fantastic speakers who come from disciplines outside the normal UX field of practice, but who are still highly relevant — think Steve Beauchesne in 2012 and Konrad Sauer in 2013.

We also are delighted to continue our tradition of Australian speakers at Fluxible — think Daniel Szuc in 2012 and Steve Baty in 2013.

Say G’day, mate, to Toby Malone!

Toby is a classical dramaturg: it’s his job to think about theatre audiences. A dramaturg provides context, research, support, and a critical eye in the rehearsal process, to catch inconsistencies and to offer advice that will strengthen the work. Toby's talk will draw lines between his work in the professional theatre — with a specific emphasis on recent productions at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival — and the UX community, to demonstrate that solving the “here we are now, entertain us” problem can be more elusive than you’d think.

So there we have it. Our Fluxible 2014 lineup is now complete, and we’re just days away from launching our third edition.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!
