Steve Beauchesne

I’m sure everyone knows Bob and I are super excited about the program we have in place for Fluxible. The speakers are an outstanding group of individuals whose collective expertise and knowledge will provide a wonderful experience for everyone at the conference.

We’re not quite done, though, and have a final speaker announcement! I’m particularly happy today to confirm that our Saturday evening party will kick off with a talk on Designing a Brewery, by Steve Beauchesne of Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company. Steve started Beau’s along with his father in 2006, and we’re delighted that he’ll be at Fluxible to talk about how design helped build a brewery.

That's right, our party has a Beernote talk! It just keeps getting better!

Lug TreadI’ve been a fan of Beau's beers for some time now, since my brother first bought me some quite a few Christmases ago. The distinctive ceramic bottles they used at the time made an immediate statement that these folks were serious about design. The beer itself, which I later discovered was called Lug•Tread, made a similar statement about their commitment to brewing great beer. While they no longer use the ceramic bottles, design remains important to Beau’s. They've even won an award for it.

For some additional insight into the company and its people, check out this recent National Post article, featuring Steve: Going to beer school: The view from the brewery floor at Beau’s All Natural. (He's even wearing a shirt from another great Waterloo Region establishment: Nick and Nat's Uptown 21.)
