While most active recently in Canada as a two-man one-man-band using foot-controlled instruments to create the sound of a much larger ensemble, Frog & Henry was formed in New Orleans as an eight-piece street performing band in 2013 from members of the Loose Marbles, The Drunken Catfish Ramblers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Haret. Common iterations of the group now feature two members playing a foot-controlled tuba, a pedal-operated upright bass, and a device for playing cornet and guitar simultaneously behind vocals, clarinet, and trombone. The group contains at least two members and up to 8 or 10, depending on the availability and location of its members and the requirements of the venue, so that each show is different from the next.
