Jared Spool

At Camden town station on a crowded Saturday afternoon, a London tube announcer was heard saying:

'Please let the passengers off the train first...
Please let the passengers off the train first...
Please let the passengers off the train first...
Let the passengers off the train FIRST!
Oh go on then, stuff yourselves in like sardines, see if I care, I'm going home.'

We have a sneaking suspicion this could very well be the description to the opening scene of Fluxible this year, as Jared Spool will be a part of this year's UX party disguised as a conference!

Shut the front door! Are you guys kidding?

No, we're not. It's for reals.

Jared M. Spool (@jmspool) is the founder of User Interface Engineering, the largest usability research organization of its kind in the world. He’s been working in the field of usability and experience design since 1978, before the term "usability" was ever associated with computers.

If you’ve ever seen Jared speak about user experience design (lucky you!), you know that he’s probably the most effective and knowledgeable communicator on the subject today. He is a top-rated speaker at more than 20 conferences every year!

Jared spends his time working with the research teams at the company, helping clients understand how to solve their design problems, and explaining to reporters and industry analysts what the current state of design is all about.

He is also the conference chair and keynote speaker at the annual UI Conference and UX Immersion Conference, and manages to squeeze in a fair amount of writing time. He is author of the book, Web Usability: A Designer’s Guide and co-author of Web Anatomy: Interaction Design Frameworks that Work.

Stay tuned for further announcements about additional speakers and details of Jared's session at Fluxible.
