It’s been pretty remarkable how smoothly preparations have gone for our very first edition of Fluxible. We've hit our first noticeable speed bump on the road to the event and have an update to share.

Gene Smith was going to deliver a workshop on User Research Hacks. Unfortunately, a late-breaking emergency has meant that Gene needs to cancel his appearance. It’s not a decision that Gene has taken lightly, and while we're obviously disappointed that he won't be here for our weekend of UX goodness, we completely understand that life happens and hope to see Gene again soon. Gene's early and enthusiastic support of Fluxible was a big motivator, and we sincerely thank him for it.

Sean YoWe're extremely fortunate that Fluxible is based in a community that has a depth and breadth of smart people who are ready and willing to share their knowledge and experience. Some months back, after a meeting of the Guelph Web Makers Meetup in which I extolled the wonders of Fluxible, Sean Yo generously offered to act as a backup speaker in case the need arose. Today, we acted on his offer and asked Sean to join us at Fluxible. We couldn't be happier to announce that he'll be delivering a workshop on Designing for Web Accessibility.

Sean is well known in the community for his appearances at various meetups and events, and this is a welcome opportunity for us to shine the spotlight on a local hero whose passion and expertise will result in a terrific experience at Fluxible. If you haven't chosen your workshop yet, be sure you look at Sean's. If you aren't able to attend his workshop, make sure that you at least spend some time talking with Sean (and all of our speakers, for that matter).

For Fluxible registrants who had previously signed up for Gene's workshop, we'll send you an email shortly explaining how to select another workshop from the three that are still not filled (including Sean's).
